Music at Prince of Peace Church
“Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises… With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD.” Psalm 98:4,6

The Adult Choir

The choir leads Sunday morning worship at alternating services each week from September to June. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Weekly Audio Recordings are on our website.

Our choir has approximately 20 members, and the music they sing is very varied. Pieces they enjoy range from classics such as "Schubert's Mass in G" and "Oh, How Amiable" (Ralph Vaughn Williams) to more contemporary songs including "Ain't Got Ttime to Die," "Day by Day" (Mark Hayes), and "Cantante Domino" (Dave and Jean Perry).

The Choir enjoys being creative and varying its music. For instance, in May 2006 they gave a joint concert with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, East Windsor. They have also presented musicals; performed the "Messiah," and offered other special presentations as well.

Instrumentation includes a Yamaha Grand Piano, and an Organ. The congregation is fortunate to have many talented musicians who often supplement the choir with instruments such as recorder, flute, french horn, violin, guitar and others.

Fuma Sacra - Ensemble in Residence

sacra fuma

The Chamber Choir, Fuma Sacra, is Prince of Peace Church's Ensemble in Residence.

In this capacity they present concerts at the church, designating one concert as a benefit for a PoP ministry; present a lecture about an upcoming concert as it relates to worship, Biblical studies, spiritual formation, or church history; lead a workshop for the PoP Adult Choir; and assist with other musical outreach in conjunction with the church.

For further information about Fuma Sacra feel free to call Andrew Megill at: 609-883-026, or click HERE for additional information about the Choir and its Conductor.

The above link also allows the visitor to listen to a recording of "Ave Maria" by Josquin Despres (used by permission of AMegill - © pd) as performed by the Chamber Choir under the direction of Andrew Megill.
